What is Health Angels Outdoor Group Fitness?


Health Angels outdoor group fitness programs are a flexible, fun & friendly approach to exercise. We focus on high quality, small group exercise sessions that help you achieve your fitness goals in a safe & supportive environment.


How do Health Angels Mum’s & Bub’s sessions work?


We specialise in helping mums feel great! We know your body goes through many changes while pregnant and once your bub arrives. With Health Angels you’re in good hands. Our Mum’s & Bub’s sessions are tailored to your needs and suitable for all levels of fitness.

We place a focus on functional exercises that will help you in your everyday life as a Mum, as well as work on improving your core strength, losing extra baby weight and bringing back your energy. We are experienced in helping you exercise safely through many pregnancy related issues, such as pelvic floor weakness, lower back pain and pelvic instability.

You will still receive a full body workout with a fun combination of cardio, strength, boxing & core exercises. Your bub can sleep in their pram (fingers crossed) or join the other bubs playing on a picnic rug. We do our best to keep your bub happy while you workout, however, you are still responsible for your little one at all times.


Do I need to be fit to join Health Angels programs?


NO, that’s what you come to us for! We welcome all fitness levels* to our programs with the goal of improving your fitness over the initial 12 week program and beyond. Our group sizes are limited to 10 members, so you’ll get the support you need to exercise safely and appropriately for your body. *subject to initial health consultation


I'm already quite fit, will I be challenged at Health Angels group fitness sessions?


YES, our exercise programs are suitable for all levels of fitness. We know plenty of ways to make an exercise more challenging and we will ensure you receive a great full body workout. We will review your current health and fitness before joining our programs, to ensure the program selected is most suitable for you.

You might like to have your own Personal Trainer if you’re looking to achieve a specific health & fitness goal.


What kind of exercises do you do in Health Angels Outdoor Group Fitness programs?


We keep our sessions varied and fun, so we do all different kinds of exercise. You will receive a full body workout each session which will include combinations of cardio, strength, boxing & core exercises. Every session is different, so you won’t ever get bored!


Is your program like a Boot Camp?


NO. We do not yell at you and make you carry tyres around the park! We pride ourselves on our inclusive, non-intimidating style of exercise in which you will be challenged to improve your individual fitness. We also have a strong focus on technique and correct exercise prescription for your body type. It’s not “one size fits all” mentality.


Is there lots of running?


We do not ask you to do long distance running, however jogging is often part of our warm up exercise. We occasionally include some short distance sprints as a great way to elevate your heart rate and burn fat!! The important thing to remember is, all activities are optional. If you have been advised not to run you will be given a suitable alternative exercise.


How many people are in each session?


We limit our sessions to an average of 10 participants in each group. We provide exercise based on quality not quantity and ensure you receive personalised attention during your session. We’ll ensure you’re performing each exercise correctly to avoid injury but enjoy the social benefits of a group environment. It’s a win-win!!


I've got an injury - can I still join your program?


Most likely. We will discuss this as soon as we hear from you. If you are currently seeing another health professional, we will give them a call to make sure we are all working together towards your recovery. Alternatively, you may be asked to bring a medical certificate from your specialist stating that you’re fit to exercise. Either way, we will find an alternative exercise for you to do if you need to avoid a certain movement or area of your body. There are sooo many ways to keep fit, some form of exercise is possible for everyone!


What happens if it rains?


Your body doesn’t stop needing exercise just because it rains!!! But with the name Health Angels we are not expecting you to roll around in the mud :) Instead, we have carefully selected all our locations to include shelter for a rainy day. We do not cancel classes, however, if you decide not to come along you will have an opportunity to catch up on your missed class (read the next question). IF the weather is deemed dangerous to your health and safety*, the session may be postponed.  * at the discretion of Health Angels management.


What happens if I miss a session?


Your program is designed to help you achieve your health & fitness goals over an initial 12 week period and then become part of your healthy lifestyle. Your success relies on your consistent & regular attendance, as intended. So we expect to see you every week. However, life can be unpredictable sometimes, so if you need to miss a session or two, due to illness or an early meeting at work, you have the opportunity to catch up at any of our other group fitness sessions, in any location, during your active membership. Once you cancel your membership with us all unused sessions are forfeited.


Can I change session times?


ABSOLUTELY, you are not locked into a particular session time on a weekly basis. You can change which sessions you attend to suit your busy lifestyle. For example, if you would like to come twice a week you can attend Monday & Friday the first week then Wednesday & Saturday the following week. We really don’t mind, as long as your exercising!!


What happens if I have a holiday/work trip planned?


A stated above, your program is designed to help you achieve your health & fitness goals over an initial 12 week period and then an ongoing fortnightly membership. Your success relies on your consistent & regular attendance, as planned. However, you can suspend your fitness program for up to 4 weeks in any 12 month period, as long as you let us know the exact dates of your travel, 21 days prior to your absence, via email.


Are there toilet facilities?


YES. All our park locations have public toilet facilities.


Do I have to pay for parking?


Generally NO. All our park locations have a large number of free parking spaces around the perimeter of the park.


What time do you train?


We run our sessions at convenient times of the day to try and suit your busy lifestyle. We offer sessions from Monday through to Saturday from 6:00 am depending on the location. Check out the timetable.


How do I know where I meet the class?


We will send you an email when you book in your first session. That will include a map showing you where to meet us on the first day. All our Angels wear branded white hats and jackets, so we’re easy to find.


What should I bring with me and what should I wear?


You need to bring a beach towel or yoga mat and full water bottle with you to every session.

We recommend that you wear multiple layers of clothing that you can peel off as you warm up and put back on as you cool down after the session. During the colder months, gloves and a beanie are recommended until you warm up. During the warmer months a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is highly recommended.


How much does it cost?

To help you get your health & fitness back on track, we require you to have an initial 12 week commitment to your health and wellbeing, to give your body the best chance to respond to something new.


The investment varies depending on how many sessions you would like to do per week.


1 session @ $25 per week - we recommend you combine this option with other forms of high intensity exercise

2 sessions @ $44 per week - a good choice for good results

3 sessions @ $56 per week - the best & most popular choice for great results


What are the payment options?


You have the convenience of paying fortnightly, in advance, via direct debit or credit card*, so you can spread out your investment over 12 weeks and there’s NO upfront joining fee - just get started.


If you prefer, you can also pay upfront, for the full 12 weeks, via credit card*, cash, cheque or bank transfer

*additional 1.65% surcharge for credit card payments


Is there a special offer if I sign up with a friend?


YES, for every friend that signs up because you have recommended us to them, you will receive a special gift from us!


You don't have a class where I live, are you starting any new ones?


YES, we are constantly expanding our popular programs into new parks and gardens. Please contact us and we will keep you informed of all our new locations. If you have a beautiful park near you that you think would be perfect for Health Angels, please let us know.
